We would walk all the way to Heaven, to bring you home again
No farewell words were spoken, no time to say good-bye.

Melanie God saw you getting tired
and a cure was not meant to be,
So he put his arms around you
and whispered "Melanie come home to Me".
With tearful eyes we watched you,
as we saw you pass away.
Although we love you deeply,
we could not make you stay.
You were gone before we knew it, and only God knows why
Our hearts ache in sadness, and secret tears will flow
What is meant to lose you, no one will ever know.

God broke our hearts to prove to us,
He only takes the best.
And when the angels called for you,
much sooner than we planned,
We brave that bitter grief that came,
and still try to understand.
